Cardiovascular Risk Reduction and Addressing Cardiovascular Inequities, A Spotlight with C2DREAM Early Stage Investigators
C2DREAM is committed to research and action in improving healthy hearts. As part of our five aims, this includes generating the next generation of researchers. Currently, the Investigator Development Core works to support post-doctoral fellows and early-stage investigators (ESIs) who are addressing the disparities in cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and related chronic conditions (RCC) that disproportionately impact Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities. Much work has been done to support ESIs and nurture career goals and aspirations. This month, we would like to thank the ID Core and ESIs for their contributions and hard work towards advancing research targeting prevention, early intervention, and disparities reduction on obesity, hypertension, and CVD. We are sharing stories from a few of our ESIs, from Cycle 1 of the Pilot Grant Program.
See below to read about Katherine Diaz Vickery, MD and Abby Lohr, PhD, MPH. Next month, we will future more highlights from ESIs that participated in Cycle 1. Stay tuned!
