seminar series

We invite you to our monthly seminar, co-sponsored by the University of Minnesota Program in Health Disparities Research! The seminars provide a platform for professionals and researchers to gather and present their work to the community.

Our upcoming seminar, “The Reproductive Health Consequences of Criminal Legal System Involvement,” will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at 12:00 - 1:00 pm CT. J’Mag Karbeah, PhD, MPH, from the HEWG at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, will be presenting.

In this presentation, Dr. Karbeah will present findings from her analyses of the Future of Families Child and Wellbeing Study, a modern birth cohort study of nearly 5,000 children born between 1998 and 2000 in 20 large US cities. The findings examine the reproductive health impacts of both direct and indirect exposure to the criminal legal system, including parental incarceration and youth police stops. We invite you to join us to explore this critical topic in greater depth. The event is free and open to all.
